Based in Havant, Hampshire, ALPS Limited is a major supplier of building products to the construction industry, specialising in ventilation and screening louvres and solar shading systems. Due to continued growth we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Company.

Job description

Working within a small project team environment, you will be responsible for the day to day management of projects including all associated activities, liaison with external suppliers/contractors/architects in order to deliver projects on time and in full. Adopting a team orientated, customer focused approach you will ensure project delivery excellence and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and legislative compliance.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Managing 15 - 20 live projects at any one time, resolving any technical and design matters and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Procure all materials, services, installation fitters, deliveries and other resources required to meet customer programme requirements
  • Liaising with internal team members i.e. CAD, logistics and factory production as well as external service providers
  • Conduct drawing reviews for client approval or amendment
  • Compile cutting lists/BOM for manufacture and installation
  • To ensure company SOP and H&S procedures are adhered to
  • Maintain project budget and profit margins and ensure variations are appropriately managed and recorded
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with our customers
  • Take all opportunities to obtain best price and value from third party suppliers in order to increase project profitability
  • Raise purchase orders and authorise payments to sub-contractors
  • Controlling all site health and safety requirements for our packages and producing site specific RAMS
  • Regular site visits for pre-installation assessments, snagging and handovers
  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and working along side other Project Engineers to continually develop new processes and improving procedures.

Skills and Experience

  • Five years previous experience in construction/architectural engineering/project management areas (Essential).
  • Prince 2 (Desirable)
  • SMSTS (Desirable)
  • Microsoft Projects (Desirable)
  • Proficient at both written and spoken English (Essential)
  • Time management and organisation skills (Essential)

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. As this is an office based role based in Havant, Hampshire, candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
